Yes, the Lincoln Electric Power MIG 211i is capable of MIG (GMAW) welding aluminum.
Because aluminum wire is very soft, it often tangles ("bird-nests") if you try to push it through a standard 10-foot MIG gun. For best results, the 211i should be used with the optional aluminum welding spool gun, Magnum PRO 100SG Spool Gun (Part number: K3269-1, https://canadaweldingsupply.ca/produc...). The machine has a dedicated 4-pin connector on the front panel specifically for this spool gun.
Gas Requirement: You must use 100% Argon shielding gas for aluminum (unlike the 75/25 Argon/CO2 mix used for steel).
